Texas Café and Hotel is a café based in Osh-Isfana highway, Batken region in Kyrgyzstan operating since 2002. In 2020, Joroev Akbarali, the owner of the café applied to KyrSEFF for a funding to install biogas plant and thermal insulation on external walls. It allowed him to be independent from the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supply that is not reliable in the region. Using this green technology, Joroev was able to reduce his heat and cooking bills.

KyrSEFF helped construct biogas through cattle manures and reduce kitchen waste with a daily capacity of 3 tons of waste per day.

Mr. Joroev says: ‘I care about making my business eco-friendly and more sustainable through various renewable applications’.

Mr. Joroev strives to make his business environmentally friendly and enjoys thermal comfort, independent and secure gas supply and utilization of waste from this technology.

As a result, he reduced his café`s and hotel’s electricity bill, the implementation of the project will reduce the energy consumption of the facility by 150.8 MWh per year while increasing production efficiency, and reduce harmful CO2 emissions by 21.58 tonnes per year.

The successful implementation of the project to improve resource efficiency has allowed “Texas Café and Hotel ” to receive an additional grant from the European Union, amounting to 15% of the loan.
